The Perils of Politics in the Office

We have all heard of the employee at Goodyear who can’t wear their MAGA hat. You may or may not agree whether or whether not he should be able to wear it. This is an example of a pretty innocent example of politics in the office. However there are examples where there can be dire consequences. I had a discussion with one of those people who have the potential to cause serious damage.

I was talking to a person in the health care profession specifically a RN that works at a hospital I will not mention. She was very sure in her belief that COVID-19 was a Democratic plot to undermine President Trump. First and foremost I was shocked because as a Democrat I found it ironic that she thought Democrats could accomplish anything. However it began to settle in that this person is responsible for people’s health not just her patients. If she does not believe COVID-19 is real she is most likely not following social distancing and/or suggested hygiene guidelines risking the health of not only her patients but the health of her coworkers. Just let that sink in for a moment, a person charged with saving your loved one as they battle COVID-19 may not believe it to be a real illness. A loved one you cannot visit, a loved one who’s only contact is a person who believes that your loved one is what, faking their illness? Now I ask you how you would feel if you knew this is how you’re loved ones…
