The Day the Music Died

This is the song I think of when feeling down.

While reading my news feed I read a story that stated the Republican party spent at least $ 1 million to stop and revoke the student debt forgiveness efforts by the Biden administration. As I read this a part of my soul died on the spot. I knew there were cruel people in this country but holy shit, to spend money to continue the misery and hopelessness associated with student loan debt is something more. Honestly, only one word comes to mind, evil. No counter strategies, no alternate systems, nothing but a big million-dollar middle finger to those in debt or who may be in debt in the future if they pursue an education. As an American, I have an overwhelming desire to bathe right now. Right about now you may be thinking this is the start of some leftist’s rant, and you would be wrong. The rest of this story gives you an understanding to the contrary.

For a decade I developed and attempted to launch a viable solution to take on student loan debt and it was a damned good one. All of this discussion regarding debt forgiveness does nothing to solve the problem. It is no solution for the future, it is a band-aid. To minimize the negative impact of student loan debt you have to begin reducing the debt as it occurs, while students are in school.
