It is not just a generational shift in the Republican party but also in the Democratic party. I am a gen Xer and I have all but given up on the boomer generation doing anything other than help themselves at the expense of every other generations future. I live in Georgia and have already voted for Warnock on the first day of early voting. I did not cast a vote for him or the Democratic party but rather the future of American democracy. Not that the Democratic party will do anything to preserve it under this leadership but I know the Republican party will gladly destroy it under theirs. As I see it, at best the Democratic party as it is today is nothing more than a piece of wood wedged behind the tire of American democracy keeping it from rolling backwards hopefully long enough for those that inherit it will have something to rebuild.
