Forget about Republican politicians or voters doing anything. They are both perfectly fine with yielding power to a dictator, as long as they are ''Their'' kind of dictator. Yes we are all neighbors but so were many Eastern Europeans until the Pogroms. In regard to using US troops on its citizens , this is problematic because many service people will be called to attack their own communities and families. Remember, the Chinese attempted to counter this by using troops from different regions to distance the soldiers from their prey. America does not have this option. To add further complication to using US troops at home is soldiers will have to consider repercussions against their families while away. These are not nice things to have to discuss, but they are highly probable should Trump move in this direction.
