3 things I took away from Trump’s Inauguration
- As I watched the march of The Muppets it became crystal clear America is not a serious nation. As Trump marched past “gleaming” he was followed by his minions and hos. Then the “opposition” gleefully marched past, just happy to be at the party. Not sure if they remember the past year of fear they presented to the world regarding Trump, or Alzheimer’s has finally settled in.
2. Watching the former presidents and their spouses aka their “caretakers” shuffle by, I felt justified in my opinion of the baby boomers. They were and never were going to grow up. They looked like teenagers at the prom and just happy to be part of the class of whatever year's court. Then came the true owners of America, where the real power lies, the march of the billionaires. Yes, the final solution to baby boomer’s efforts spending their children’s future for pennies on the dollar to “make” these billionaires. Just as selfish and destructive as the baby boomers themselves.
3. As Trump’s coronation concluded, it became quite clear there is one positive aspect to it all. As a Gen X Democrat, I will never have to listen to another fractured, illogical, false or flat out lie from a boomer Democrat defending the latest neoliberal Democratic candidate ever again. No more Morning Joe or The View being shoved in my face and being told me and my generation’s concerns are nonsense or claims we are just ungrateful. Not worth the death of Democracy, but a ray of sunshine nonetheless.
